Chip and PIN is a new way to reduce card fraud. A good thing for everyone. Don't you think?

And we want you to feel as secure as possible when using your HSBC online card. So in 2005 we'll be replacing your card with one that makes use of chip and PIN.

How does it work? Simple really. Whenever you buy something with a new chip and PIN card, you will probably be asked to enter your 4-digit PIN instead of signing a receipt.

Of course you won't have to do this when shopping by phone or online.
